This Oneβs for the Late Starters
I came across a story from the Olympics that reminded me: sometimes the best things take time.
Hereβs your reminder, straight from a few legends:
Vera Wangβentered fashion at 40.
Colonel Sandersβbuilt KFC at 62.
Alan Rickmanβfirst film role at 46.
Bill Withersβdebut album at 33.
J.K. Rowlingβpublished at 32.
Toni Morrisonβfirst novel at 39.
Julia Childβcookbook at 50.
Samuel L. Jacksonβbreakout at 46.
If youβve ever felt βlate,β remember:
Youβre not too old. Youβre just getting started.
The Simple Method for Rapid Growth
If youβre stuck or starting something new, hereβs a ridiculously simple way to jumpstart progress:
Why it works:
You create a habit loop that sticks
You remove the friction of βwhere do I start?β
Progress becomes inevitable
Donβt overthink itβjust start showing up.
One half-hour at a time.
On your side.
7 personal growth challenges that could improve your life
2025 is 40% over. Time for a reset?
Not to alarm youβbut weβre nearly halfway through the year (39.8% to be exact).
If things have felt a little too routine lately, nowβs the perfect moment to hit refresh.
I grabbed these personal growth challenges from my friend Ben Meer, who consistently shares some of the best self-development content out there.
For me, Iβm leaning into more tech-free days.
As much as I love building and sharing online, the weeks Iβm constantly plugged in are the same ones where I feel most scattered.
Maybe you can relate.
Hereβs your invitation:
Choose one of these 7 challengesβor create your ownβand give it a solid try.
Sometimes, a small shake-up can create big clarity.
Iβd love to hear which one you choose!
The Most Underrated Social Skill? Listening Like a Therapist
Want to be more memorable?
Stop trying to be interesting.
Start making others feel interesting.
This is what Chris Williamson calls the Law of Inverse Charisma:
True charisma isnβt about impressing othersβ
Itβs about making them feel impressive.
The secret?
Learn to listen like a therapist:
Ask thoughtful follow-up questions
Pause before jumping in
Reflect back what you hear
Drop the urge to "one-up" or relate everything to your own story
π¬ People donβt remember what you said. They remember how you made them feel.
The 10-Minute Trick That Destroys Procrastination
Procrastinating? Try this.
SeriouslyβI donβt think this has ever failed me.
Step-by-step:
Pick the task youβve been avoiding.
Set a timer for 10 minutes.
Start.
If after 10 minutes you really want to stop, you can.
But hereβs the thing:
99% of the time, youβll keep going.
Why?
Starting is the hardest part. Once youβre in motion, your brain wants to stay in motion.
